Creative Arts
The arts are explored daily through musical activities, readily available art supplies, including crayons, paints, pencils, and collage materials. Curricular activities that explore the connections between art, literacy, math and science are woven throughout the children’s day. When children draw, paint and make collages, they are learning fine motor development; sustained and planned attention; pincer grip; how to distinguish writing from non-writing and dual representation (representational drawings).
Likewise, singing and musical games improve rhythm, coordination, impulse control, listening skills, build vocabulary and a sense of community.
