Name: Yashu Kumar
The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) who is a live in professional staff member. The RLC supervises the RAs within the residence hall and is available as a first responder for emergency situations or any other concerns that may arise. Furthermore, the RLC will initiate and hear any conduct proceedings.
The Resident Assistant (RA) is a full-time student at Baruch who lives on a floor in the Baruch Residence Hall and serves as a role model, peer counselor, resource and referral person, advocate, policy enforcer, programmer and leader for residents of the assigned floor(s). Under the supervision of the Residence Life Coordinator, RAs assist in the development of community, engage students with various programming, and report inappropriate behavior. RAs provide support in emergencies and times of personal stress.
In addition to all of the responsibilities of a Resident Assistants, the Senior Resident Assistants (SRA) will serve as a leader among peers. They assist the RAs and serve as a point of resource.
The Community Assistant (CA) is a Baruch student who serves as a role model, peer counselor, resource and referral person, advocate, policy enforcer, programmer and leader for the general residential community. Under the supervision of the Residence Life Coordinator, CAs supports the Office of Residence Life, RLC, and RAs, by being a positive influence in the community, engage residents with various programming, and assists with other initiatives.
The Residence Hall Council (RHC) is devoted to improving experiences in Baruch’s residence hall while hosting various events to foster community and serving as the liaison between residents, Residence Life and Student Life. RHC offers a place where students residing in Baruch’s residence hall can come together outside of typical school hours and locations to network and socialize through means of various events. This organization kindles residential life and makes the residence hall a more enjoyable environment.
