    Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month is a time to celebrate and commemorate the contributions and achievements of the Hispanic/Latinx Community. We invite the entire Baruch Community to join us in celebration of Hispanic/Latinx Culture as we explore and highlight its resilience, perseverance, richness and diversity.

    The theme for this year is, “Unidos, Somos Más” (translating to “Together, We Are More.”) This theme emphasizes the rich traditions and contributions of Latinx/Hispanic Americans, acknowledging their past achievements while looking forward to continued growth and innovation.

    Levante Su Salud Integral – Wellness in Action

    Join us for a conversation on wellness and collective care. This panel will uplift the voices of communities of color, addressing stigma, inequities, and the need for healing spaces. Panelists will share strategies for self-care, resilience, and support- helping students thrive in college and beyond.

     The Mirabal Sisters Story

    A learning workshop exploring the lives, activism, and legacy of the Mirabal Sisters and their courageous resistance to the Rafael Leónidas Trujillo dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. Through their story, participants will examine themes of resistance, political oppression, gender, courage, and social justice while reflecting on the sisters’ lasting impact on Dominican history and movements against gender-based violence worldwide.

    A lively evening inspired by the traditional game of Lotería! Join us for a night of friendly competition, community, and culture as we put a Baruch twist on this beloved game. Whether you’re a longtime player or experiencing Lotería for the first time, all are welcome to play, connect, and celebrate together. Prizes, fun, and good vibes await!

    Sonidos De Cumbia

    Join LASO as we learn the lively and energetic dance of Cumbia! This class is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Latin Heritage Month, connect with others, and experience the rhythm, movement, and cultural traditions that make cumbia such a beloved part of Latin American culture.

    Sin Salsa No Hay Vida

    Tuesday, September 29 | 6:00–8:00 PM | NVC 1-107 Multipurpose Room
    Join us for an evening of salsa music, dancing, and community! The event will begin with a 30–45 minute salsa lesson led by Sin Vergüenza members, followed by a salsa social where students can dance, mingle, and enjoy the night together. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience!
