    Food Assistance:

    • Through the mayor’s office and DOE, the Free Meals Program provides free food at 400 locations citywide.
    • Help Now NYC offers a list of resources available in NYC.
    • For those in need, NYC’s Nutrition Kitchen food pantries allow anyone to pick up one week of free groceries.
    • The Food Bank of New York City provides a list of food assistance options.
    • The Human Resources Administration created FoodHelp NYC to track pantries and community kitchens through a map.
    • For New Yorkers with disabilities, food supply and distribution resources.
    • The City is also providing online food shopping for SNAP recipients.

    Mental Wellness:

    • Help Now NYC offers a list of resources available in NYC.
    • NY State OMH Emotional Support Line: 1-844-863-9314
    • NYC WELL hotline (1-888-692-9355, or text “WELL” to 65173)
    • The New York State Office of Mental Health also provides links to free mental health services during this pandemic.
    • A list of NYC Thrive’s crisis hotlines.
    • NYC Well’s Digital Mental Health Resources lists many links for apps/websites related to depression, sleep, and recovery.

    Funding:

    • Help Now NYC offers a list of resources available in NYC.
    • The Temporary Aid to Needy Families Program (TANF) provides cash assistance and emergency funding to eligible families who may face eviction or an inability to pay a utilities bill.
    • The federal CARES act provides enhanced Unemployment Insurance benefits, as well as Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, to now include self-employed/1099 workers, part time workers, and those who were not working for an extended period of time. To check eligibility and apply, visit the State’s Labor Department page.

    Donations/Volunteer Opportunities:

    • NYC Health + Hospitals donations for staff.
    • Catch a Fire, a volunteering site, matches individuals with non-profit organizations to do flexible and sometimes remote volunteer opportunities.
    • Help Now NYC lists different ways to volunteer during this time.
    • Virtual volunteering opportunities.

    Technology/Other Resources:

    • Texas Instruments is offering a free trial of their TI-84 Plus CE App for Chrome OS.
    • U-Haul is offering free 30-day storage to students with a student ID across all its locations.
    • NYC Parks@Home offers virtual events and park tours.
