Welcome Letter from the Director
As the Director of Baruch’s Counseling Center, I welcome you to our website and to the Counseling Center.
College life can be an exciting time for students – doors opening, new experiences being offered, friendships forming, knowledge and wisdom expanding. It can also be a challenging and stressful time. Some students may feel they need extra support to cope with personal issues that may be interfering with their ability to perform in college. That is why we are here.
Through trauma-informed, culturally sensitive counseling services, our counselors work collaboratively with students to improve their emotional well-being, balance priorities, enhance interpersonal relationships, and empower them with useful coping skills to attain success in and out of the classroom. Our counselors come from a varied degree of backgrounds and specializations and can offer counseling in multiple languages.
All counseling services are free and confidential. We provide short-term individual counseling, group counseling, performance enhancement consultations, psychiatric medication management, psychological testing, as well as crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and referral services. We are located at 137 E. 25th Street on the 9th floor, in the Annex building (to the left of the Library Building).
We hope you find this website useful. Please do not hesitate to contact the Counseling Center if you have any questions, at 646-312-2155.
Sincerely,
Teresa Hurst, Ph.D.
Director
