    Commencement

    Baruch College Commencement Logo

The 2023 Commencement Ceremony will take place on
    Tuesday, May 30
    9:00 a.m.

    Barclays Center

Don’t forget to file for graduation with the Office of the Registrar.

    Congratulations to all graduates!

    Checklist

    • File for graduation.
    • If inviting relatives from overseas, submit an Invitation Letter Form.
    • Submit a Cap & Gown Order/Guest Ticket Request Form.
    • Purchase Cap & Gown

    Graduation Eligibility

You must file an Application for Degree form with the Registrar’s Office. Only an official notification from the Registrar’s Office should be accepted as a definitive statement of graduation. Receipt of a commencement letter from Student Life does not signify that you have fulfilled all your academic requirements and does not indicate that you are eligible to graduate.

    Invitation Letter Form

The Office of Student Life provides letters to students interested in inviting their relatives from overseas to the 2023 Commencement Ceremony. Make sure to download and fill out the Invitation Letter Form with the proper information and correct spelling.

In addition to this form, please provide us with a Certificate of Attendance that you can request from the Registrar’s office, Room 850, 151 E. 25th St. (Library Bldg.). Once obtained, bring both documents to The Office of Student Life. We will not begin writing the letter until we have the Invitation Letter Form and the Certificate of Attendance.

Letters received after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays will be completed the following week. You will be notified once your letter is ready to be picked up.

Please note that the letter provided by the Office of Student Life does not guarantee relatives overseas admission into the United States.

    Time & Place

Baruch College will hold its 2023 Commencement Ceremony on Tuesday, May 30 at Barclays Center at 620 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.

There will be one commencement ceremony at 9:00 a.m., with both undergraduate and graduate students at the ceremony. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.

Please continue to check this site for updates and additional information.

    Filing Deadlines

The deadline to complete your cap & gown order online is Monday, April 24, 2023 (the order site closes at midnight). See below to order your cap and gown and guest tickets.

After the deadline, you must purchase your cap & gown in person on campus during the Late Cap & Gown Distribution days, May 16 and 17. You can also purchase on the morning of the ceremony, May 3o, at Barclays Center.

    Caps & Gowns

Participants in the Commencement Exercises must wear appropriate academic attire. You are required to wear a cap, gown, hood, and tassel.

    To order your academic attire:

Student Cap & Gown Order/Guest Ticket Request Form

Be sure to indicate which degree you are receiving (Undergrads – BA, BBA or BS; Grads – MA, MBA, MIA, MPA, MS, MSEd; Doctorates –  DBA, PhD). Measure your height while wearing heels of the same height that you will wear to the exercises. The academic regalia is made with 100% recycled content as part of Baruch’s sustainability initiative.

The entire academic attire is yours to keep. If for any reason you choose not to attend the ceremony, you may make a written request for a refund to thegraduateguy@aol.com by May 1, 2023. (Note: requests for refunds will NOT be honored after Commencement. Any academic attire that is not picked up on the day of Commencement is returned to the manufacturer at the end of the day.)

Each graduate will receive four guest tickets for cap & gown orders completed online by the April 24, 2023 deadline. After the deadline, you may receive a reduced number of guest tickets. If there are extra guest tickets after the initial distribution has been completed, these guest tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis determined by cap & gown purchase date. Guest tickets are subject to availability based on the number of students attending the ceremony.

Please note that guest tickets are free with the purchase of your cap & gown. Guest tickets are not available for sale. Selling guest tickets is strictly prohibited.

    Extra Guest Tickets

If there are extra guest tickets available, they will be issued on a first come, first serve basis determined by when you have completed your order (i.e. purchased your cap and gown). You can request extra guest tickets on the Student Cap & Gown Order/Guest Ticket Request Form. You can only request up to two extra guest tickets.

Note: While we will try our best to fulfill your request, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get the extra guest tickets you request.
