2020 Virtual Commencement Experience
June 8, 9:30 A.M. (EDT)
Congratulations on the completion of your studies at Baruch College!
As your time draws to a close, we hope you look back fondly on your Baruch experience and that you have made lasting friendships, developed professionally, and increased your knowledge-base.
While social distancing requirements prohibit us from gathering together at Barclays Center, as originally scheduled, it will not deter us from acknowledging the hard work and achievements of our graduates. Our Commencement is not cancelled; nor is it indefinitely postponed. As originally planned, June 8 is the Class of 2020’s moment to shine! Join us for the Virtual Commencement Experience on Monday, June 8 at 9:30 a.m. to celebrate the Class of 2020!
The Virtual Commencement Experience will begin with a 30-minute video that features a welcome from Interim Provost James McCarthy; a special performance by the Blue Notes; and a valedictory address by Annmarie Gajdos, who has been selected as valedictorian of the Class of 2020. President Mitchel B. Wallerstein, PhD, will also deliver the keynote and, together with the deans, confer the graduate and undergraduate degrees for each of our three schools.
Special sites will go live for the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, and the Zicklin School of Business. Each site will include video remarks from the school’s dean, as well as clips from faculty and staff. Student clubs and organizations will also host special watch parties. Visit the Virtual Commencement Experience site when it goes live on June 1 for the list of watch parties.
Stay tuned for additional details on the Baruch 2020 Virtual Commencement Experience!
Please check back regularly as we will be routinely updating our watch party list.
Cap and Gown
Cap and gown are not required for the 2020 Commencement Experience on June 8. However, you may wish to order a cap, gown, hood, and/or tassel to wear for your family celebration or a watch party, or just as a keepsake. You may order by going to our Commencement Order Form. Please note that the deadline to order and have your items shipped directly to you by June 8 is May 11. Orders placed after May 11 may not arrive until after June 8.
Already purchased your cap and gown? Here’s a message from Herff Jones:
To make life easier during this uncertain time, we created options for you to either have your gown shipped to your home or for you to receive a refund on your purchase.
Your graduation is a reason to celebrate! We encourage you to honor this milestone by making full use of your gown; take pictures, share on social media and celebrate with loved ones.
If you would like to have your cap and gown shipped (for free!) directly to your home address, use the following link to provide us with your shipping information and then be on the look out for your cap and gown.
But if you would prefer to receive a full refund of your order, we completely understand. Please use the following link to request your refund.
