    Early Learning Center

    The Mission of the Baruch College Early Learning Center, Inc. is to provide child care services to students who would otherwise not be able to attend college without these services. As part of its Mission the Center seeks to provide an age appropriate learning environment for children 2 to 5 with referral and intervention services when needed and to provide student/parents with support as they pursue their degree.

    Early Learning Center Hours

    The Early Learning Center follows the Baruch College’s undergraduate schedule and provides childcare during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The center’s daily schedule includes play and exploration, meals, a rest period and specialized activities. The center provides nutritious breakfast and snack while children bring their own lunch.

    2021 Spring and Summer I: 
    The Center is open for childcare Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. beginning January 26, 2021 through July 8.

    2021 Summer II:
    The Center will have a combination of on-site and virtual office hours Monday through Thursday 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.

    Social Distancing Protocols and Procedures

    Physical distancing guidelines and mandatory use of face coverings will be enforced for all individuals while in the building. Adequate classroom supplies will be available to minimize sharing and all activities and mealtimes are planned for children and adults to maintain 6ft distance as much as possible. Toys will be placed in individual containers and will be shared by no more than two children at a time.

    High-level Cleaning Protocols

    Regular cleaning and disinfecting throughout the day with frequently touched surfaces cleaned and disinfected between use. Adequate amounts of the necessary health and cleaning supplies to help protect against COVID-19, including hand sanitizer, soap, and bleach solution, will be maintained. All toys, materials, art supplies and classroom equipment will be cleaned before the program begins. Classroom supplies will be available to minimize sharing. Toys will be placed in individual containers and will be shared by no more than two children at a time. Toys will be cleaned and disinfected between use.

    Fees

    Two children wearing masks playing with toys.The Early Learning Center is funded through Baruch student activity fees, state and federal grant monies, and a nominal child care fee for student-parents on a sliding scale. All fees for Baruch College student-parents are subsidized. Additional grant assistance is available for eligible student-parents based on household income and family size. Children’s attendance is based on parents’ schedules and childcare needs.

    ♦ Childcare fees for student-parents range $5.00 – $40.00 per day

    ♦ Childcare fees for faculty and staff range from $46.00 – $51.00 per day.

    Applications are available to download. Student Families are encouraged and welcome to make an appointment for a virtual visit and/or tour.
