Academic Philosophy
The Early Learning Center is committed to working collaboratively with parents, families, educators, and the Baruch community to improve student achievement and increase learning opportunities. This collaborative focus ensures that every child leaves our center with the academic and social-emotional foundations to be successful in school.
The ELC curriculum presents a play-based, interdisciplinary, project-approach, designed in conjunction with children’s interests and development to stimulate children’s curiosity and encourage their first steps towards engagement with the world. Children actively experiment with their physical environment to construct an understanding of their own experiences through in-depth exploration and research.
The daily schedule includes specialized activities, meals and a rest period. The center provides a nutritious breakfast and snack, while children bring their own lunch.
