    Exam Proctoring Procedures

Student Disability Services (SDS) provides an accessible testing environment for students with approved accommodations. Students registered with SDS will share their accommodation letter with their professors at the beginning of each semester by submitting a semester request in  CUNY Accommodate. Faculty will also receive this notification and can log into CUNY Accommodate to review the students’ list of accommodations.

    Student Responsibilities:

    • It is the student’s responsibility to initiate exam proctoring requests from instructors.
    • To schedule an exam with SDS, including exams that will be administered in- person/on campus, students and faculty must complete a Request for Exam Proctoring Form.
    • It is the student’s responsibility to submit the completed form at least one week before the exam date to exam.sds.proctoring@baruch.cuny.edu OR deliver it to the office (VC 2-272).
    • Students needing to reschedule their exam must obtain written faculty approval and forward it to SDS.
    • A form is not required for online exams that will be administered remotely. Please remind your professor to adjust the time on the learning management system (LMS) (e.g., Brightspace).

    Faculty Responsibilities:

    • Faculty should fill out Part 2 of the form, specifying exam details and permitted materials (e.g. open book, calculators, notes).
    • Once SDS receives the completed form from the student, faculty will be contacted to confirm the details of the exam and request the exam to be emailed to exam.sds.proctoring@baruch.cuny.edu OR    deliver it to VC 2-272.
    • Completed exams will be scanned and emailed to faculty or securely stored for pickup.
    • If applicable, please adjust the exam time for online exams on the learning management system (LMS), e.g. Brightspace, Pearsons.

    Proctoring Hours

    • Exams are proctored Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
    • Evening and weekend students should coordinate with faculty to select an alternative time within the office’s business hours and note it on the form prior to submitting the form.
