    Baruch Celebrates Black History Month

The theme for Black History Month 2024 is: “African Americans and the Arts”. African American artists have used art to preserve history and community memory as well as for empowerment. Artistic and cultural movements such as the New Negro, Black Arts, Black Renaissance, hip-hop, and Afrofuturism, have been led by people of African descent and set the standard for popular trends around the world. In 2024, we examine the varied history and life of African American arts and artists.

    Conversation Partners Program

Connecting with fellow students and being part of a community is important. This semester’s Conversation Partners Program is about to begin. Are you interested in joining?

The Conversation Partners Program matches native and nonnative speakers of English for informal conversations. It is a great way for nonnative students to gain confidence in English, for native speakers to gain experience in communicating across language barriers, and for both native and nonnative speakers to expand their cultural knowledge, make friends, and build a network of professional contacts. To participate, you should commit to meeting your partner at least six times this semester for about an hour each. If you meet six times and fulfill a few other requirements (see CPP website), you will receive a certificate—a great way to enhance your resume. The CPP also offers fun events throughout the semester. To learn more and to sign up, visit the Baruch website. To sign up, please click on “Application” and fill out the Application Form on the website.  The deadline for signing up is Friday, February 23, 2024, by 11:59p.m. EST.
