    Spring 2023 Final Exam Conflict

As final exams approach, please visit the Final Exam Schedule page to see the listing for the Spring 2023 semester. Students who meet any of the following conditions are eligible to apply for Conflict Examination Sessions:

    • have two or more examinations at the same time; or
    • have three or more examinations on the same calendar day; or
    • a Baruch College student who is enrolled in an approved permit course outside of Baruch College and provides official documentation that the course final from the other (host) institution is on the same calendar day as their Baruch College final examination; or
    • a Non-Baruch College (visiting) student who is enrolled in an approved permit course at Baruch College and provides official documentation that the course final from their other (home) institution is on the same calendar day as their Baruch College final examination.

Please visit the Conflict Examinations page to learn more about applying for a Conflict Examination Session. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 1, 2023, 4:59 p.m. EST.

Final Exam Period: Wednesday, May 17 – Tuesday, May 23

Final exams may not take place outside the final exam period, Wednesday, May 17 – Tuesday, May 23. Although some students (and some instructors) might prefer to complete the final before the exam period begins, we may not do this because:
    (1)  You should not have to study for a final that will take place on days that you are still attending and doing assignments for other classes. Please do not ask your instructor to give the exam before the final exam period.
    (2)  The New York State Education Department specifies the minimum number of contact hours per credit; we meet the minimum by including the final exam period; therefore, no final exams may be administered during regularly scheduled classes, including during the last sessions of the semester; and
    (3)  You deserve the number of classroom hours you have paid for.

If your instructor is not complying with the college’s final examination policy, please feel free to contact Associate Dean of Students Dr. Annie Virkus-Estrada (646-312-4570) or Annie.Virkus-Estrada@baruch.cuny.edu.
