The Starr Career Development Center provides employers with the opportunity to significantly enhance their brand on campus through various career fairs and expos throughout the academic year. By attending these events, companies have the chance to meet with and educate Baruch students about their available opportunities as well as discuss their application process and collect resumes. Baruch offers several career fairs and expos each year, including:
Fall Accounting Fair in September
Provides companies with an opportunity to meet our undergraduate and Masters-level (MS/MBA) students interested in accounting, audit, tax, assurance, and related disciplines.
Fall Undergraduate Job & Internship Fair in September | Spring Undergraduate Job & Internship Fair in early February
Provides companies from all industries with an opportunity to meet our talented undergraduate students interested in obtaining internships and entry-level positions.
Diversity Pipeline Programs Panel & Networking Event in late October (Fall)
The purpose of this unique program is to showcase nonprofit leadership and professional development diversity pipeline organizations to our underrepresented student populations (particularly Black and Latinx). These organizations include America Needs You (ANY), COOP Careers, INROADS, Modern Guild, Multicultural Advertising Internship Program (MAIP), Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), SEO Career, and The T. Howard Foundation for Diversity in Media. Two student leaders (from NABA & ALPFA) moderate a panel discussion and pose questions that inform students about each organization, program requirements/deadlines, and job search etiquette. During the second half of the program, program managers have an opportunity to interact with students and prospective candidates in a more intimate setting via breakout sessions. Typical event partners include the Baruch SEEK Program, Success Amplified, the Baruch Black Male Initiative Program, and various diverse student clubs and organizations.
Marketing Career Expo in November (Fall)
This event is designed to provide undergraduate students with a virtual forum to meet professionals, network, and learn about opportunities in the marketing, media, PR, and advertising industries. It begins with opening remarks by the Allen G. Aaronson Department of Marketing and International Business, followed by rotating networking sessions between students and professionals utilizing Zoom breakout rooms, ending with company-specific breakout networking sessions.
Diversity Career Expo in February (Spring)
This event is designed for student candidates from diverse backgrounds to meet employers and organizations interested in recruiting new talent for internships, leadership programs and entry-level positions. The event consists of opening remarks/keynote address, DEI breakout room discussions, and a networking session (mini career fair). Campus cosponsors include Baruch SEEK Program, Baruch Urban Male Leadership Academy, Baruch Success Amplified, Baruch BMI, Black History Month Planning Committee, Max Berger Pre-Law Program, Peers for Careers, RSSP/P2P, Success in Your Career, and various diverse student clubs and organizations.
Tech Career Expo in April (Spring)
This event provides Baruch students with the opportunity to hear from top technology and analytics industry professionals about their careers, companies they work for and tips for current students. Professionals share their knowledge and speak with students about their career goals. The event format consists of networking “roundtables” and open networking with companies of interest.
