Starr Search
One of the first things you should do to participate in our services is log into Starr Search (Powered by Handshake).
Accounts are created shortly after the beginning of each semester. Please check your Baruchmail for login instructions. Starr search is a service available to undergraduate, degree-seeking students only.

Career Counseling
Career counseling consists of weekly meetings with a Starr Career Advisor to assist with:
- Major selection
- Job and internship search
- Career exploration
- Decision-making
- Other issues that may affect your career process

Resume Reviews
You can make an appointment, come in during scheduled walk-in hours or attend resume rush to have your resume reviewed.
Bring a paper copy of your resume draft and it will be reviewed by a member of the Starr staff.
Career Exploration
We offer a variety of assessment tools to gather information on values, skills, accomplishments, personality style, interests as well as other areas important to career development to assist you in major selection and career choice.
The most popular career assessments used at the Starr are: the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as well as FOCUS-2.
Mock Interviews
Schedule a 60-minute interview role play session with a Starr career advisor. Note, students are required to email their career advisor a copy of your resume and the job description of opportunity they’re preparing for.
AI Mock Interview Practice
Practice a personalized mock interview online in a simulated experience. Answer tailored questions, review your performance, and get AI-powered feedback to help you feel more prepared.
CUNY EDGE
CUNY EDGE welcomes and serves students at any point in their undergraduate journey. Your first visit to the CUNY EDGE office provides an opportunity for CUNY EDGE staff to have an initial conversation with you to learn about your experience so far at CUNY, discuss your HRA case and provide you information about the CUNY EDGE program and expectations for your participation.
At the first visit, you’ll be asked to complete intake documentation to help CUNY EDGE staff know more about you.
