Role and Training
The training and selection process are rigorous and competitive.
Tier 1
Training
- Ten ninety minute training sessions
- Resume, Cover Letter, Thank You Note, and LinkedIn Profile Preparation
- Challenging Scenarios
- Developing Interpersonal skills through volunteering at SCDC Job Fairs
- Shadowing of current Peers
- Compose a group presentation demonstrating how to write a successful resume
Tier 1 Peer
- Provide thirty-minute Resume, Thank You Letter, and Cover Letter Critiques
- Receive weekly supervision from SCDC staff
- Assist SCDC staff with Administrative Tasks and Presentations
- Chair and run committees (Facebook, Publicity, Ticker, Blog, Alumni, Philanthropy, and Budget)
- Work at least 5 hours per week and give 1 additional hour for supervision
Tier 2
- Provide thirty-minute Resume, Thank You Letter, and Cover Letter Critiques
- Receive weekly supervision from SCDC staff
- Assist SCDC staff with Administrative Tasks and Presentations

Training
- Semester of Service
- Sixteen-Hour Training Program designed to increase trainees’ competency in interviewing, mock interviewing, and providing constructive coaching and feedback
- Attend Basic and Advanced Interviewing workshops
Tier 2 Peer
- Maintain the responsibilities of a Tier I Peer
- Conduct Hour-long Taped Mock Interviews
- Conduct Workshops, Co-facilitate trainings, and Moderate Panel Discussions
