The Financial Leadership Program is a year-long curriculum. The program’s focus is to provide students with the necessary career skills training to become strong candidates for finance internships during the Summer 20222 and 2023 and receive full-time offers to join these firms after graduation.

Workshops focus on 21st century career management skills including resume writing, networking, creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork collaboration and business communication. FLP students benefit from corporate valuation financial modeling provided by Training the Street, dining etiquette, corporate field visits and educational workshops provided by Wall Street professionals.

In addition to the workshops, students must complete project related assignments working in teams. Regular reading of The Wall Street Journal and other relevant market related publications is critical to success. When possible, program participants are matched with a mentor ranging from working finance professionals to peer mentors who are senior FLP students at Baruch.

Made possible by generous contributions, the Financial Leadership Program continues to seek support from foundations and corporate partners. Many seminars and workshops are sponsored by executives of various institutions who donate both their time, expertise and money to educate and assist our students.

We welcome corporate sponsorship for the Program and can offer several corporate visibility opportunities. Involvement by corporate representatives can include mentorship, speakers for seminars and monetary contributions for finance-related publications and material.

Mentors play a major role in the Financial Leadership Program by guiding students with their internship search and development into successful finance professionals. Each student in the Program is matched with both an alumni mentor and a peer mentor (senior Baruch FLP student). Students also receive invaluable guidance from Dr. David Shulman, a former Wall Street finance executive and the Managing Director of the Financial Leadership Program.
